At the bypass of Malye Vyazemy, the installation of asphalt concrete has been started

Road builders have begun construction of road surfaces at the bypass of Malye Vyazemy down the Central Ring Road. About 500 meters of the lower layer of asphalt concrete have already been laid. In total, road workers will have to lay 87,767 m2 of asphalt along the section just over 4 kilometers long.

All bypass structures are under construction now. It is planned to mount the span of the overpass across the Smolensk railway and lower it onto the bridge bearings. The company experts are also engaged in the construction of the ramp part of the tunnel, which will be part of the transport interchange with the existing Central Ring Road, and the construction of overpasses across Mozhaiskoe Highway and Yamskaya Street.

Besides, the scope of works includes the reconstruction of communications, in particular, power lines, communication cables, six sections of the gas pipeline, two of which have already been fully completed. A stormwater drain system with a length of about 4 km is being built; at the moment, it is almost half ready. More than 350 workers and over 100 units of machinery are employed at the site.

The bypass of Malye Vyazemy consists of four lanes, two in each direction. Builders will erect three transport interchanges, namely, at the intersection with Petrovskoye Highway, Yamskaya Street and next to the Golitsyn Poultry Farm.

The bypass will considerably boost transport communications in Odintsovo, Zvenigorod, Golitsyn, Istra, and Kubinka. The local road network will be relieved, and traffic safety will be improved. The opening of the bypass will help relieve traffic congestion at the section of the Central Ring Road spanning between the Mozhaisk and Minsk Highways. On average, over 60,000 motorists use this junction daily, and in the summer, the traffic intensity reaches 100,000 cars per day.

Besides, the bypass enables to discard an at-grade intersection of the roadway with the railway tracks of the Smolensk direction. Railroad traffic intensity is pretty high over there — in rush hour, trains run at intervals of 2-3 minutes, 5 minutes at most. This poses a serious obstacle for motorists, especially during the summer season. Thanks to the new overpass across the railroad, drivers will no longer waste time waiting for trains to pass.

The opening of the new section of the Central Ring Road bypassing Malye Vyazemy is scheduled at the end of 2024.
